Tudor Rose:

The Wars of the Roses ended in 1485 when, after 30 years of conflict, Lancastrian Henry Tudor (red rose) defeated the Yorkist King Richard III, (white rose), at the Battle of Bosworth Field. Combining both red and white roses, the Tudor Rose represented the unification of England when Henry Tudor was crowned King Henry VII of England in Westminster Abbey.  The emblem can be seen on buildings all around the country including historic houses, churches and castles.
